BUSKER
THE STREETS OF EVERYWHERE
I started playing harmonica on the streets of Brussels when I was 21 years old. A decade later I've played my honky tonk music all over the world: from the beaches of Spain, to the French Quarter of New Orleans.
My music career started at Belgium's oldest independent radio station (Radio Scorpio), where I hosted an acclaimed weekly show called 'Bluesapalooza'. After a couple of years, the show culminated in the first Leuven Blues festival, which featured over 50 local and international musicians.
During the next couple of years, I founded a non-profit under the moniker 'Leuven Live' and organized over 200 concerts and jam sessions. In 2019 I hit the road and lived in Morocco and Italy, eventually settling down in Gran Canaria.
When the pandemic shook the world, I stayed on the Canary Islands, busking beneath the Catedral de Santa Ana, right next to Columbus' House. During this time, I managed to release two albums: 'After Hours' and 'Blues Messenger'.
In 2022 I got selected through ReverbNation for the Richmond International Film Festival, winning the Grand Jury Prize for Best Music. I also made it to the finals of Unsigned Only with my original song 'White Man Boogie'.
The Other Side Of The Coin
Mardi Gras in New Orleans
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, I recorded my third album 'The Other Side Of The Coin' with Dirk Lekenne at Studio Fandango. In February 2023 I crossed the pond to work on the record with NYC Blues Hall Of Famer Hugh Pool.
After two weeks of recording, busking and playing gigs in the Big Apple, I flew into New Orleans to experience my first Mardi Gras. I busked on Royal Street, went to local jam sessions and performed at the Baton Rouge Mardi Gras Festival. During this time, I was a steady fixture at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room.
In 2024, I was scouted by Spectra Music Group, and signed a record deal. 'The Other Side Of The Coin' was released in September 2024.
Flamenquito
During the last couple of years, I have lived all over Spain: Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Cadiz, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where I spent the entire pandemic.
During the winter of 2024 I moved to Sevilla. I recorded over 300 hours of live music, and conducted interviews with the locals: musicians, drunk teenagers, bouncers, event organizers, elevated elderly, bar owners, and local legends.
The result is 'Flamenquito', a podcast trilogy which captures the essence of nightlife in Sevilla. As someone who has travelled all over the world looking for the sounds of the city, I can testify that Sevilla is experiencing an absolute golden age regarding live music.
'Flamenquito' is available on all platforms, from Bandcamp to Spotify. Tune in!
Ancienne Belgique
In 2025 I played gigs all over Spain, Belgium & The Netherlands, and participated in the Belgian Blues Challenge. RB & The Nightcaps received the 2nd place in the public vote and 3rd place in the jury vote.
For the Brussels TUUB project, we recorded two songs (Tettengarage & Jeanke Leeft Van Den Dop) in Brussels dialect. On 22/11, we played a release show in Belgium's most prestigious venue, Ancienne Belgique.
